THE E-ON CUP
E-on sponsor both Nottingham Forest Football Club, and PSV Eindhoven, from the Netherlands.
A pre-season friendly was arranged between the two clubs in August 2023.
To recognise their involvement with both clubs E-on set us the task to create a bespoke trophy to celebrate the occasion. It had to showcase their sustainable approach to business.
We discovered that the nickname of Nottingham Forest was ‘The tricky trees’, in reference to the tree that acts as the club badge.
PSV Eindhoven have the nickname ‘The lightbulbs’, which goes back to their roots as a club set up by the Philips electrical company.
We combined elements of both to create a trophy that represented the clubs’ history, and also E-on’s sustainable credentials.
